MURLLUM is dual-purpose street furniture. It is a boundary for an urban precinct, used to hide waste water treatment infrastructure in the Forum Park from view, while at the same time serving as a continuous bench. It consists of two parts: a modular screen with glass lenses and a bench base to ensure stability. The installation of several of these units generates a modulated 1.9 metre high bench-wall every 3 metres.
This product is self-supporting. It does not require anchorage, and can be moved by forklift using a track designed into the base.
MURLLUM was designed in 2003 by architects José Antonio Martínez Lapeña and Elías Torres in conjunction with Escofet.
