The MORELLA 140 and MORELLA 120 planters are part of the MORELLA series. They are built from a single folded sheet of COR-TEN steel, with precise, accurate, elementary forms. They rest on the pavement unanchored, leaving a small gap between the planter and the ground. This separation lets the planter adapt to the slope without compromising its horizontal plane, while at the same time transmitting a sense of levitation. As a result, the power of this volume is accentuated while its presence is lightened.
These planters can be supplied in six models with different geometries and heights to facilitate exactly the right choice and combination for the insertion of plants and flowers into each city space. MORELLA 140 includes three models with different heights and a square or rectangular base. MORELLA 120 is only supplied in a circular form. The same diameter is maintained in all three models with different heights.
The MORELLA series emerged with the idea of creating a suite of professionally-built street furniture, consistent in their form and genuine in their character. Produced in CORTEN Steel because of its natural finish and its quality appearance, the MORELLA Series has been designed to withstand the test of time, guaranteed by its materiality and manifested by its aesthetic. The elementary character of this series makes it predisposed to relate to its surroundings, triggering more complex spatial relations, unlike some other street furniture that is only aimed at focusing on itself.
The MORELLA Series, named after the city for which these items were conceived, became a feature of public spaces emerging with a monumental purpose. This purpose was seeking the timeless design essence that bestows permanence. The quality of the series permits an extension of its use to historic areas, where the textures and the environments generated by superimposed cultures and times should not impose themselves.
