G-BANCO and G-SILLA are produced in wood and galvanized steel, merged together in a comfortable, versatile design that is now used widely as street furniture.
For conventional street usage of the seat and wood backrest, the G-BANCO and G-SILLA legs are replaced with a slightly flexible G-shaped metal base, a tribute to Girona, the city they were designed for.
G-BANCO and G-SILLA are part of the MAGIC FLUTE collection, designed in 1995 by architects Andreu Arriola and Carme Fiol in conjunction with Escofet for reforms to Calle Santa Clara in Girona. The MAGIC FLUTE is a collection of street furniture inspired by the characters and music of Mozart's famous opera.
The urban elements in this series, the DAMA planter, the PAPAREGENA litter bin, the SARASTRO drinking fountain and the G-BANCO bench, have characteristic shapes that give them a harmonious relationship and create a visual melody in the urban landscape.
