BOLLARD is a granite grey or beige cast stone product. Its spherical shape is used to separate pedestrian and vehicle traffic while at the same time organising and outlining public space. BOLLARD is available in different sizes, along with a semi-spherical model with a flat base.
The units are anchored to the pavement with recessed bolts. BOLLARD BUZO, a new application of the BOLLARD 700 model designed in 2001 by architect Saeta Estudi, includes an embedded spotlight with two possible orientations: set horizontally 10° below its axis it lights up pavements like a beacon, while vertically, it can be used to illuminate a façade or a garden tree.
The combination of the rotund geometry of this solid cast stone sphere and the small illuminated glass aperture resembles a diver's helmet, surfacing into the urban landscape. BOLLARD was originally designed in 1994 by the Escofet technical team.
